SIP phone setup: from credentials to first call

SIP lets a business number ring on a softphone, desk handset, or compatible PBX. Start with an active DIDcomms number, the credentials in Number Settings, and one standards-compliant client.

Register and test

Enter the server, E.164 username, password, transport, and port exactly as shown in the portal. The configuration example uses UDP 5060 and TCP 5061. Never share credentials in a public ticket or screenshot.

If registration succeeds but calls fail, disable SIP ALG and test on a mobile hotspot. Check inbound ringing, two-way audio, outbound caller ID, and notifications in that order.

Open the SIP service page, get a UK number, or see call costs.
